"Mr. Loomis" was a youth pastor at our church in Bowie when I was young. His gentleness towards everyone, no matter how he was treated, was a great lesson for me.

Dave was a fellow classmate at Wiliams College, Class of '56. He made a wonderful contribution to one of my recent Alumni People articles as class secretary. I know that all of us from our Williams class deeply regret his passing.

Dave was a very special friend of our family in Bowie. His creativity and love for all around him brought love, fun and understanding to almost everyone whose life he touched. He will surely be missed by all, but he leaves wonderful memories that will last for a lifetime in the hearts of all of us who had contact with him.

David and I were engaged to be married
when I was 18 and he 23. Although we
broke it off (we were much too young to make this commitment) he will be always in my heart as an extraordinary human being with whom
I could discuss anything from Martin
Buber to Dostoevsky. He greatly enriched my life with his compassion for others and set the bar very high for those who later gained my affection. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
