When one gets involved in projects that benefit this community, inevitably you end up on a committee or two with Dr. Jay Fleishman. Jay your contributions to this community will endure as the legacy you built continues. Thank you.

I cannot put into words how much I missed you at the VVMC Continuing Medical Education/Medical Library Committee meeting this morning. You have missed so few meetings in the past 15 years that it just seemed natural for you to be there. I especially appreciated your knowledge of the rules and regulations that dictated the physician education. Thank you for all of your help and wisdom, both with the Committee and personally. I will miss your not-always-so-funny jokes and laugh. You were a man among men. Our community will be missing a vital driving force in whatever ventures you may have wanted to undertake. God speed, my friend.

My interactions with Dr. Fleishman were short and sporadic, however, each time he impressed me with his commitment, caring and insight. He will be missed.

Dr. Jay Fleishman was a powerful, positive servant-leader to the Yavapai College Foundation - Greater Verde Valley Chapter. The generosity of his spirit, and the depth of his character, led him to devote personal wealth to ensure the less fortunate have access to higher education. Through his gifts of scholarship, the Fleishman Legacy lives on. Thank you Dr. Jay, for the memories, and the leadership by example. We are all saddened by his passing.

I cannot tell you how much I will miss Jay's wry sense of humor, wit, and presence in my classes this fall. Jay was always learning and researching, whether great cities of the world or psychology articles he thought I would enjoy. A life-long learner, Jay enrolled in my inaugural Path of Yoga class & continued to study psychology with me at Yavapai College. I was so looking forward to seeing him again in another class this fall. My deepest condolences to Bobbie and his family. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.

My heart is heavy. We not only lost a great doctor, but a great human being. I would like to see him reconized also for the gift he gave to this community that caused him his life. He was the only origional doctor from the hospital that brought "Relay for Life" to Verde Valley in 1995. He served with my late husband and myself in this cause for cancer. I can still see him walking the track late at night at Mingus High, reading a book. He not only taught, he lived what he taught. We will miss you.
Rest in Peace Dr. Jay.

I want to thank you Dr. Fleishman for helping me with school. I don’t feel like I can tell you enough. You have made it possible for me to get through quickly. Your brilliance forced me to push myself for better. You never failed to teach me something new whenever I saw you. I loved every opportunity I was given to listen to your wisdom. I also want to thank you for challenging me to keep up with current events. This world was a better place with you in it. I will miss you. Rest in peace Jay.
